Commission Chair Aubrey Davis announces the appointment
of Jennifer Ziegler as Commission Administrator for the
Washington State Transportation Commission Office. In
her role as administrator, Ziegler will be responsible
for assisting the Commission in formulating its positions
and initiatives on matters of transportation budgets,
planning and policy; and serving as the Commissions
liaison with WSDOT, other state agencies, the legislature
and local governments. Jennifer comes to us with a wealth of experience
in legislative processes, legal and policy issues, and
transportation and budget matters, all of which are highly
desirable in this important role, said Chair Aubrey
Davis. Her work with the legislature gives her a
unique perspective and understanding of statewide transportation
issues that allows her to hit the ground running. Ziegler comes to the Transportation Commission from the
Senate Commerce and Trade Committee where she was responsible
for coordinating schedule, presentation and parliamentary
issues for committee hearings and analyzing legislation
related to labor issues. Prior to that, Ziegler served
as senior council for the Senate Transportation Committee.
Her responsibilities included researching and drafting
legislation regarding the Regional Transportation Investment
District (RTID) for the central Puget Sound area, Tacoma
Narrows Bridge, and design-build construction. She holds
a law degree from the Seattle University School of Law
and is a member of the Washington State Bar Association. The seven-member Washington State Transportation Commission
is the board of directors for the Washington State Department
of Transportation. Commissioners are private citizens
appointed by the Governor to serve six-year terms. News Archive
